Radio Traffic Policy
Introduction
The purpose of this policy is to ensure uniformity in the radio procedure and to ensure radio transmissions are on a professional level.
Radio Standards
No soundboards of any kind may be transmitted/used by personnel.
You may not go away from the keyboard (aka AFK) in any RTO channel longer than ten (10) minutes.
Having quick, accurate, and professional radio communication is essential to first-responder work. In order to uphold this, the following policies are to be followed completely.
Active Dispatchers are to be referred to by the following names; Dispatch/Control/Central.
All personnel is required to utilize their Mobile-Data Terminal (aka MDT) to update their respective status.
Transmissions of non-emergency nature that are the length of >20 seconds or more shall be made private over a 10-1 channel.
There shall be a break of three to five seconds between each transmission.
Always transmit over RTO with a calm voice, however, this does not apply in a stressful or dangerous situation.
All on-duty members of a department are required to be in their relative RTO based on their area of play.
All radio transmissions must be extremely professional. It is forbidden to;
Transmit messages of personal nature;
Transmit unnecessary, unidentified, or superfluous messages;
Use profane, indecent, or obscene language or meaning;
Interrupt a distress and/or emergency message;
Send false distress and/or emergency message;
